Methodology For Carbon Removal via Mineralizing Atmospheric CO2 into Stable Calcium Carbonate in the Soil

We’ve developed the world’s first carbon dioxide removal (CDR) methodology based on photosynthesis-driven oxalate-carbonate mineralisation - available for download here

Our process leverages the natural process of photosynthesis to fix atmospheric CO₂ in regenerative agroforestry food systems, which is then transformed into stable carbonate minerals via the oxalate-carbonate pathway.

The methodology details how to quantify carbon removal via carbonate mineral precipitation and bicarbonate ion runoff, as well as organic carbon formed due to agroforestry activities.

The methodology was developed with input on industry compliance standards from EcoEngineers, a clean energy consulting, auditing, and advisory firm recently acquired by leading global assurance partner LRQA.

The methodology is open for public comment until July 25th, 2025; please submit any feedback to hello@tierrasphere.com.
